In the very beginning of After Midnight, Max and I were trying to put together a list of songs to cover. Like a lot of bands, we needed a good starting point. Jumping directly into original music is fun, but you might not get enough traction without a few recognizable covers. One of our choices was, of course, Powerslave, by Iron Maiden.

While I spent a week or two perfecting Steve Harris' bass solo in the middle of the song, Max spent a while longer trying to figure out what the hell was going on in the guitar solo. He sat down, turned off his amplifier, and in distress, screamed "Fuck you, Dave Murray!"

From there, we just ran with the phrase. We thought about putting it on t-shirts and stickers, but I think this is a better use of the phrase, so if you found this, good for you.
